Position Summary
Working as part of the Data Team, the Data Manager & Salesforce Administrator is responsible for helping build and innovate LCLC’s Salesforce instance and for helping staff effectively use data to make decisions, assess program results, set goals, and gain performance insights.
The Administrator will co-own, with the Associate Director of Research and Evaluation, Salesforce development and integrated applications to ensure the platform is user-friendly, secure, promotes workflow efficiency, and supports the success of our staff in effectively delivering services. In this capacity, the Administrator must capture and interpret the needs of LCLC’s Salesforce users and execute aligned technical solutions.
In addition to overseeing the integrity of LCLC’s Salesforce instance, the Administrator will support LCLC’s operational performance and monitoring framework by helping develop, test, and implement data resources (e.g., reports, dashboards, performance monitoring tools outside SF) that are easy to navigate and comprehend. The Administrator will work with staff to ensure these resources support data informed decision making, highlight operational gaps, and support daily management strategies.
Responsibilities
Salesforce Development:
- Assist with the lifecycle of Salesforce solutions and projects including: planning, discovery, development, testing, refinement and deployment.
- Support application integrations and build roadmaps for future integrations across the application portfolio and workflows.
- Help liaise with consultants that support the development and implementation of Salesforce solutions or packaged products
- Support successful integration of Salesforce with other organizational platforms and products to promote interdepartmental collaboration at LCLC
- Partner with team members to regularly audit data to uncover data integrity issues and/or process improvement opportunities
- Work with Associate Director to document all steps in solution development and deployment
- Serve as an effective Salesforce mentor and ambassador to LCLC staff members
- Train users, assist in creating training materials and drive user platform adoption
- Additional duties as assigned by Associate Director of Research and Evaluation
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise team of data entry specialists to ensure timely and accurate data entry
- Coordinate regular data audits and manage data cleaning projects
- Promote professional development, team collaboration, and employee engagement of direct reports
- Spearhead multidisciplinary communication & collaboration as needed
Data Reporting and Visualization Resources:
- Assess the reporting needs of supervisors and program staff in order to plan, design, and execute dashboards and reports in Salesforce to increase the use of program data
- Support the design of reports and dashboards that assist in monitoring ongoing quality assurance practices to improve program fidelity and track progress to goals
- Serve as a facilitator for reporting and data quality in LCLC’sSalesforce system by managing access to editing of reports, implementing changes to filters and data fields, and continually refining how data fields are captured and displayed
- Promote the use of data in trainings and in internal learning forums via data informed stories, reflective data discussions, and case studies of effective practices by staff
- Assess and suggest improvements for staff adoption of Salesforce and ongoing capability development
- Respond to ad hoc request for program data for internal communication, external stakeholder reporting, grant reporting & management, and other needs
- Assist with the design of slide decks to effectively communicate LCLC’s model and program impact
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated interest and experience in racial and social justice or criminal legal reform
- Well-rounded in both functional and technical aspects of Salesforce
- 1-2 years experience with Salesforce lightning, Salesforce integrations, building Salesforce flows, service cloud customizations and custom applications
- Experience creating reports and supporting quantitative analytics within CRM, Salesforce preferred
- Strategic approach to solution design, with proven ability to develop and execute tactical plans to support the strategy including testing
- Deep understanding of data systems project management
- Experience developing measures and metrics used for program evaluation and progress toward KPIs
- Experience producing data reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate about data to non-technical audiences
- Experience identifying gaps, risks, and impact for solution recommendations

Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Salesforce Administrator with 1+ years of experience
- Experience with supporting data migration efforts, leading the systems solutions discussions and extracting, and documenting data infrastructure requirements
- Excellent ability to coach, motivate and direct work tasks to a multidisciplinary team
Work Environment/Travel
While performing the duties of this job, the employee works mostly in an office environment that is quiet to moderately loud, depending on the work area. Some local, county, or state travel may be required.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The role requires near visual acuity (approximately 20 in. or less) to utilize a computer. The employee will spend most of the time doing desk or computer work and in both in-person and virtual meetings. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to occasionally stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger; communicate verbally.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is an administrative position requiring the exercise of discretion and independent judgment and is required to work a full-time work week, as designated by the LCLC Employee Handbook, with periodic longer hours, including potential evenings, weekends, and odd hours.
