Job description

Title: Junior Salesforce Administrator
Location: Chicago, Illinois
Shift: Monday to Friday
Summary:The Junior Salesforce Administrator provides technical expertise to Heartland Human Care Services CRM users and wider business, while also carrying out vital audits, project support and administrative duties. This role works alongside our Salesforce Administrator in building and updating Objects, Page Layouts, Fields; managing user security (profiles, permission sets, roles); building and managing Report Types, Reports & Dashboards; creating and managing multiple sandboxes; and is involved in the overall maintenance and management of Salesforce, as well as taking charge of the data cleaning and development processes.
The Junior Salesforce Administrator leverages industry knowledge and best practices to promote the mission and vision of Heartland Human Care Services . Individual accountabilities and work volume are established through the development of annual Success Objectives, within the responsibilities outlined below. This position reports to the Salesforce Administrator.
Essential Functions:
Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides technical support for all CRM users, manage support tickets in order of urgency and escalate when needed.
  • Manages data and keeps records accurate, up to date, and consistent across Salesforce systems.
  • Performs basic Salesforce administration (data maintenance, dashboard creation and support, report creation and support, field and page layout updates, etc.).
  • Provides user account management (creation/de-activation, updates user profile, permission set and role assignment).
  • Performs sandbox environment management.
  • Conducts simple development based on business requirements (creating fields, page layouts, validations, formulas, etc.).
  • Assists with implementing & testing all-new enhancements and add-ons from Salesforce releases, as well as custom internal enhancements.
  • Assists in the creation and maintenance of Flows to automate processes.
  • Works closely with cross-functional team members to contribute to ongoing projects.
  • Provides regular reporting to the Salesforce Administrator and the Head of IT as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Communications, or related discipline.
  • Two years of relevant experience as a Jr. Salesforce Administrator working with Salesforce Sales Cloud CRM, Systems/NPSP application (preferred) with experience in configuration, customization, and reporting.
  • Basic knowledge on Apex and Visualforce development is a plus.
  • Previous human services, NPO, or case management experience a plus

Certifications/Licenses:

  • Certified Salesforce Administrator - required
  • Platform Application Builder certification - preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Technical Skills – Experience working with Salesforce Sales Cloud CRM Systems/NPSP; creating and managing multiple sandboxes, creating flows for automating business processes, ability to troubleshoot issues related to Salesforce configuration, data and automation; IT/system skills - Microsoft Office, Teams, CRM (Salesforce), Base99 (preferred); experience of managing and manipulating large sets of data using Excel. Experience using data import/export utilities (Data Import Wizard, Dataloader). Meticulous attention to detail. Experience of using Salesforce Communities (preferred).

  • Language Skills—Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents and technical procedures. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and operating procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal stakeholders and levels of staff and management.
  • Mathematical/Analytical Skills – Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, and area. Understanding of simple formulas using operators and functions
  • Reasoning Ability—Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions. Ability to synthesize written and verbal information.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook/Exchange; Windows operating systems; and other software routinely used by Heartland Human Care Services .
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to work independently and remain self-motivated with minimal direct supervision.
  • Strategic thought partnership and consultancy skills.

Work Arrangement:
Must have a remote space to work from home, and able to participate and engage in virtual meetings. Laptop and access to Teams environment will be provided by Heartland. May be required to attend in person appointments and meetings as requested.
