Job Description
OVERVIEW
The primary focus for this position is to ensure that Lakeside International Trucks and Badgerland Idealease complies with all applicable health and safety regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the maintenance and implementation of safety programs, compliance plans, and initiatives.
- Coordinate the investigation of incidents, near misses and property damage incidents. Ensure follow-up is done to minimize future exposure and proper records/documents are maintained.
- Conduct, coordinate and track various training to support company programs including new hire orientation safety training and annual employee safety training.
- Conduct routine safety observations to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, company environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures, and practices.
- Manage and maintain the vehicle fleet assets including licensing, registrations, insurance and asset allocation.
- Manage company security programs including response, incident reporting and ensuring facility and asset security 24 hours a day.
- Facilitate monthly insurance audits with GMs and department managers.
- Maintain internal and regulatory reporting including data collection and reporting including but not limited to air, storm water and surface water discharge.
- Ensure the company meets all its legislative compliance obligations with OSHA, EPA, DNR, ADA, and fire codes.
- Serve as primary contact for all regulatory agencies for inspections, permitting, reporting (air, water, waste)
- Keep abreast of any safety and environmental law or regulation changes that impact the organization.
- Ability to take necessary steps to ensure a safe work environment for all employees and to consistently advocate for a safety culture.
- Participate in meetings to discuss workplace safety and regulatory concerns and opportunities.
- Actively role model all company environmental, health and safety standards
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with Operations, Managers, Supervisors, and employees.
- Keep the Operations Manager and Human Resources Manager up to date on matters relating to, environmental, health and safety.
- Serve as primary company contact for worker’s compensation program.
- Lead monthly employee Safety Committee meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in environmental, health and safety
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to be on call or work off hours as needed
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Superior analytical/ problem solving, written and verbal communications
- Experience working with local regulatory agencies preferred
- Familiar with various emission control devices to ensure compliance

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- A high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2-years of experience in EHS related field preferred.
