```Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Safety and Training Coordinator to join our team.
Summary
Responsible for coordinating and administering Safety and Training programs. New hire orientations and onboarding process. Develops and delivers training to personnel using a variety of tools and methods. Provides support to the Human Resources Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Coordinates all aspects of Safety and OSHA training programs.
2. Delivers Safety and Training in a variety of settings including classroom and on-the-spot training; includes programs such as OSHA Personal Safety, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Lock-Out/Tag-Out, Food Safety, Cybersecurity, Alcohol and Tobacco, etc. Determines training audience and relevance as well as duration of class.
3. Develops, updates and implements training programs by working with the human resources manager and executive leadership to determine training needs and keeping the organization compliant.
4. Observe facility operations and conduct periodic safety checks to identify potential safety issues which could result in updated safety training.
5. Tracks and maintains all training files and databases. Responsible for tracking safety certifications and renewals. Oversees the process for successful completion of testing and certification, including development of rosters and schedules.
6. Monitor the effectiveness of training programs.
7. Coordinates and monitors all aspects of worker’s compensation.
8. Record all accident reports. Completes First Report of Injury form, ensuring completeness and accuracy. Tracks accidents and investigates complaints as necessary.
9. Maintains injury records.
10. Initiate and maintain contact with worker’s compensation carrier on all accidents.
11. Maintain OSHA 300 log for annual posting and other reporting.
12. Coordinates safety meetings to track safety concerns and to ensure Sendik’s Fine Foods, Inc. is compliant for OSHA inspections and other audits. Work with safety committee to achieve pre-determined goals and objectives.
13. Work with managers to accommodate employees on restricted duty.
14. Maintains and updates safety manual.
15. Conducts new hire employee orientations.
16. Maintains the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of all Human Resources related records. Including personnel related information, benefit records, medical, I-9 Forms, payroll, affirmative action/equal employment related records, OSHA/worker’s compensation related records and any employee related matters.
17. Completes special projects and other duties as assigned.

Education and/Or Experience
The position requires an Associate’s degree or equivalent experience and 3 years of training and safety experience, preferably in a retail grocery store environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Effective oral and written communications are essential, as are interpersonal skills. Excellent presentation skills are needed. Knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) safety standards, safety regulations (SDS, fall prevention, lock-out/tag-out, food safety) is preferred. The ability to understand and apply principles of adult learning to training development and delivery is helpful. The ability to work effectively in a team environment is required. Computer skills to include MS Office software, such as Excel, Word, Power Point and other internal management and Human Resources systems is necessary. The ability to work with frequent, established deadlines is required. Organizational and analytical skills are required. The ability to work effectively with diverse populations is required.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk or hear; and use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.
The employee must regularly lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift Safety and Training equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
The position is primarily an office-based position with frequent visits to the sales floor.
