Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington.

Provides oversight and support for Revenue Cycle integrity and work-flow processes using data analytics to assure all established billing, systems, and process requirements have been met to ensure timely and optimal reimbursement.


  • Through the analysis of key performance indicator data, the Revenue Cycle Systems Analyst will work to improve Revenue Cycle production and efficiency. The Revenue Cycle Systems Analyst will recommend changes that will positively impact the Revenue Cycle and help the Hospital operate according to industry benchmarks and meet A/R performance goals and productivity.
  • Serves as the primary contact for testing and validation for system upgrades, enhancements, and system implementations for Revenue Integrity.
  • Perform systems reconciliation and monitor interface logs for errors, resolve discrepancies and communicate trends for optimal performance and reports outages.
  • Review and reconcile interfaced data to the Mid Revenue Cycle area ensuring accuracy and integrity with the source system.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of existing business processes and workflows to identify areas for optimization and automation.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify pain points, gather feedback, and propose solutions to streamline operations.
  • Develop and document detailed business process models, including "as-is" and "to-be" states, to guide system enhancements and drive process improvements.
  • Facilitate discussions with key partners to develop requirements for data, reports, analyses, and data visualizations.
  • Perform data discovery on a variety of data sources to understand data, evaluate impacts of workflows, and ensure accurate use of data in analyses.
  • Using knowledge of Epic, recommends changes within the Epic environments to provide standardized, comprehensive workflows.
  • Run and design customized reports to help monitor the department’s achievements related to best-practice key performance indicators and EPIC Revenue Cycle optimization opportunities.
  • Use SQL and other data management tools to compile, integrate and structure data for efficient and meaningful analysis.
  • Appy knowledge of EPIC reporting functionality including Slicer Dicer, Work Bench and Revenue Cycle dashboards.
  • Develop data solutions, including - curated datasets, ad hoc and recurring reports, performance dashboards, descriptive and diagnostic analyses, analytics support for projects and summaries of key findings.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to growing our analyst community and organizational capabilities by sharing key learnings and promoting data and analytics with business partners.
  • Clearly communicate and explain analytics methodology and development approach; includes providing technical and business documentation to ensure robust understanding of data and solutions.

Required:

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in hospital billing resolution, Revenue Cycle, and/or data analytics. Experience with EPIC: reporting data out of EPIC, reviewing Revenue Cycle related account detail.
  • Organized and analytical self-starter with strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communicator – verbal and written communication to give specifics and details to document work completed.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to effectively present and interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrates sound technical judgment and competent technical skills with ability to troubleshoot charge capture issues.
  • Continuously demonstrates a work approach that is team centric, creative, and analytical with solid organizational, problem solving and time management skills.
  • Must be able to function in dynamic environment subject to changes in schedules and priorities, working on multiple projects/ issues concurrently.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and project management skills, including a good understanding of how to interpret Revenue Cycle needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience with EPIC Ambulatory, Cogito, Prelude.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $72,945.60 to $109,408.00 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
