The R&D Engineer operates within the Engineering and Technology group to refine our car wash equipment offering to enhance reliability, ease of installation and reduce cost.

- Concept generation and selection using metrics-based decision making – i.e., decision matrix
- Model and design new car wash equipment using 3D modeling software
- Effectively benchmark and carry out engineering design process – Plan, Do, Check, Act
- Design and execute engineering experiments to verify product performance
- Develop and identify measurable criteria and specifications for evaluating success of project by utilizing research, testing, and validation
- Create and maintain product and manufacturing information
- Maintain engineering change management system
- Support fulfillment team members with technical information and solutions
- Promptly respond to issues in the field with technical solutions
- Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with emphasis in mechanical, product development, or manufacturing
- 3-5 years of professional work experience
- Proficient in 3D modeling with Inventor, SolidWorks or similar package
- Experience with completing projects from conception through launch
- Exposure to industrial controls/PLC programming
- Ability to design simple electrical circuits
- Familiarity with fluid systems – pumps, flow requirements, pressure measurement, etc.
- Fabrication and prototyping experience
- Stainless steel and plastics design for injection molding are preferred
- Hands-on experience with equipment/machinery; high mechanical aptitude
- Process-oriented and strong collaborator with ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and across various departments
- Highly adaptable with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills; ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate, timely, and metric based analyses
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
- Prioritizes customer care throughout project work
- Travel is primarily local during the business day.
- Occasional travel to franchise locations.
