POSITION SUMMARY
Works collaboratively with the various groups within the Information Technology department and with the business units to ensure that the appropriate level of quality is designed into information technology solutions. Architects test automation solutions across multiple platforms. Ensures test automation adheres to standards and guidelines. Provides innovative solutions to complex problems. Stays current with industry trends and technologies to continuously improve the test automation practice. This is a hands-on role developing automated tests as well as architecting solutions. Travel may be required up to 10%. Salary Band 9.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Knowledge
§ Demonstrated programming skills and best practices
§ Architect and continually improve test automation framework
§ Set guidelines and best practices for test automation
§ Builds automated tests and reviews pull requests
§ Analyzes, reviews, and maintains automated tests to ensure quality control guidelines are met
§ Helps to ensure that changes do not adversely affect other areas of a given application or system, or related interfacing applications and systems
§ Keeps abreast of current and emerging information technology especially regarding Quality Assurance
§ Participates in the evaluation of vendor software
§ Assists in setting the vision/roadmap for automation
§ Participates in the development of and effectively uses the relevant aids and tools available from a quality control and Quality Assurance perspective
Managing Resources
§ Mentors/trains junior team members
§ Manages automation resources day-to-day activities
Business Focus
§ Understands business requirements and how quality control solutions impact the business
Other
§ Communication: Communicates with internal customers in non-technical terms. Communicates with applications, architecture and operations teams on issues that are encountered in testing and possible resolutions. Communicates to executive team through status reporting.
§ Teamwork: Works with other groups and departments to develop and implement solutions in a timely manner
§ Performs additional responsibilities as assigned
Nature and Scope:
§ Role does not conduct performance reviews
§ Works under limited supervision, relying on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish assigned goals
§ Leads test automation efforts across the QA team
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, business, or related field preferred
Years of Experience
A minimum of 10 years of relevant information technology experience, with the most recent experience in test automation.
Required Skills
§ Thorough knowledge of relevant information technologies and how to incorporate quality in application development
§ Working knowledge of webMethods & API testing
§ Working knowledge of Selenium test automation with Java programming language
§ Advanced SQL/plSQL skills for querying databases & validating data
§ Experience with full development lifecycle
§ Demonstrates the ability to create & enhance test automation/test automation frameworks
§ Experience reviewing functional & technical requirements
§ Demonstrates strong technical aptitude & troubleshooting skills
§ Demonstrates strong analytical, problem solving, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
§ High attention to detail
§ Ability to multi-task & work with competing priorities
Preferred Skills
§ Experience with Docker/Kubernetes
§ Experience with ADO pipelines
§ Experience with performance/load testing & testing tools
§ Experience with low code/codeless test automation tools
§ Working knowledge of Job Scheduling tools (IE: Appworx)
§ Experience leading/planning upgrade/conversion testing
§ Experience with Oracle EBS V12
Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
