The primary focus of this position is to lead the execution of QA programs that monitor, test, and report on relevant Regulatory Reporting compliance risks and oversee testing performed by Quality Assurance (QA) team members. CIBC US Finance Regulatory Reporting Quality Assurance program helps ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of the reporting submissions that include but are not limited to FFIEC 041, FFIEC 009, FFIEC 002, FR 2052a, FR-Y-9C, FR Y-11, and FR Y-15. The position will involve frequent interaction with Regulatory Reporting process owners and stakeholders to promote timely completion of established test plans. As needed and applicable, the role will provide advice on control considerations, and issue resolution as well as assistance with regulatory and audit exam engagements. The role reports to the US Finance Regulatory Reporting Quality Assurance Manager.
Essential Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the assessment of Regulatory Reporting compliance risks and complete risk-based monitoring and testing plans
  • Lead the performance and documentation of QA test plans of assigned regulatory report reviews
  • Perform transactional substantiation testing and document end-to-end testing
  • Deliver clear and actionable review results and process feedback from stakeholders
  • Ensure timely delivery of deliverable milestones that include testing and review workpapers, and reports
  • Stay abreast of industry and regulatory changes, analyzing the impact on external reporting and control environment compliance
  • Assist the Regulatory Reporting team with regulatory exam preparation and related remediation efforts as it pertains to the Regulatory Reporting Quality Assurance program
  • As appropriate, assist 2nd line Risk and Internal Audit with their evaluation of Regulatory Reporting matters
  • As appropriate, contribute to broader Governance & Oversight routines and initiatives focused on improving monitoring, testing, and issue reporting processes
  • Be capable of applying analytical tools such as Tableau and Alteryx to make improvement on the overall efficiency of Quality Assurance program
  • Perform ad-hoc projects as assigned related to Regulatory Reporting governance and compliance management led by the second line
  • Hybrid work schedule with a minimum of 3 days in the office located in Chicago, IL

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA preferred
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance Testing methodology, Regulatory Reporting schedules, and external reporting processes
  • Minimum three years of accounting or auditing experience in the banking or financial services industry, preferably with experience focused on external Regulatory Reporting.

  • Excellent communication skills - both oral and written
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/priorities and drive each to completion
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills and familiar with data profiling and analysis tools such as tableau and Alteryx are a plus
