Purchasing Agent

Unscripted Interior Design is an award-winning, multi-disciplinary Interior Design firm with a renowned reputation for exceptional customer service and attention to detail.

Unscripted is seeking a Buyer to facilitate the procurement of furnishings and fixtures for multiple projects to support our Interior Design Teams. The employee is responsible for creating a large volume of purchasing and change orders while providing resolution to pending invoices. They will also coordinate activities involved with procuring goods and services to assist in the successful execution of projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Procurement of furnishing, fixtures, fabric, wallcoverings and equipment and research on sourcing products for multiple projects.
• Purchase general and specialized materials as directed by designers
• Review quotations with design team
• Follow up on orders, shipping, delivery dates, and expedite purchased jobs.
• Must be able to relate and coordinate with the finance department project funding needs on a weekly basis.
• Communicate revised pricing and obtain approval for any price increases, service charge modifications, schedule changes, etc.
• Collaborate with Suppliers, Design Team, and Operations to meet Client deadlines
• Communicate completed project buys to the design teams, production manager and accounting
• Communicate delays and product availability issues to the design teams and production manager upon receipt of notification
• Issue Purchase Orders to facilitate the timely delivery of materials and performance of work
• Respond to communication from production team members and trade partners regarding concerns, pricing, contracting, documentation, etc.
• Respond to communication from design team members regarding plans, spec. sheets, deadlines modifications, etc.

Requirements:

• Excellent Customer Service Skills
• Maintain a high level of ethics and integrity in all dealings
• Maintain a personal time management system to facilitate organization and efficiency
• Demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills

Education:

• High School or GED required. Accounting, Business and/or Interior Design degree is helpful but not necessary

Experience:

• Procurement knowledge and aptitude for technology.
• Interior Design purchasing experience preferred

Skills:

• Ability to maintain the highest Ethical behavior
• Self-motivated and able to work in a collectively responsible team environment
• Ability to stay organized and manages priorities in an efficient manner
• Proficient in using MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook {mandatory}
• Proficiency in Procurement Software, preferred Studio Designer is a plus
• Exceptional communication skills necessary, both written and verbal; detail oriented with good follow-up and follow-thru skills
