Form of workYou will serve as a Purchasing Agent in the Contracting Department of NAVSUP FLC NORVA GF.Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector utilizing an extensive knowledge of Federal and Department of Defense Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) purchase regulations, methods, procedures, and business practices in order to purchase needed complex supplies, equipment, and technical services. Examples of specialized experience include some of the following: 1) Acquiring complex supplies, technical services and construction by negotiating and executing bilateral purchase orders, sole source, Type I and II delivery orders; 2) Utilizing a knowledge of commercial supply sources and business practices related to sales, prices, discounts, units of measurement, deliveries, stocks and shipments; 3) Analyzing and reviewing requisition/procurement requests for compliance and accuracy; 4) Conducting market research to determine if request can be met from mandatory government sources, existing government contracts, or through open market; 4) Contacting customers and supply/services providers to discuss price quotations deviation or exception to specifications; 5) Performing SAP administration functions such as claims and dispute resolutions.
