Job description

The hiring rate for this opportunity is $18/hr.
Location: Roseville, CA
Internship hours per week: 20-24
Internship duration: approximately 3 months, May to August.
POSITION SUMMARY
The PMO (Project Management Office) Intern is a temporary role within The Banks Project Management Office or equivalent department. The primary objective of this internship is to provide aspiring project managers or individuals interested in Project Management with practical exposure to the processes and functions of a PMO. The PMO Intern will work closely with experienced Project Management professionals, gaining valuable hands-on experience and insights into project planning, execution, and monitoring.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project Support: Assist the PMO team in various aspects of project support, including data analysis, documentation, and reporting. This may involve working with project managers to gather project status updates, tracking key performance indicators, and helping to maintain project documentation.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with the PMO team to identify areas for process improvement within Project Management methodologies and tools. This may include suggesting ways to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and optimize resource allocation.
  • Reporting and Communication: Help prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders, including senior management. The intern may be responsible for collecting data, creating visualizations, and contributing to project status updates.
  • Project Documentation: Assist in maintaining project-related documentation, such as project charters, schedules, risk registers, and lessons learned. This involves ensuring that project documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant team members.
  • Tools and Systems: Gain exposure to Project Management software and tools used within the Bank. The intern may be involved in data entry, maintenance, and troubleshooting related to these systems.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various teams involved in projects, including project managers, functional managers, and other stakeholders. The intern may be required to participate in meetings, workshops, and discussions related to project progress and challenges.
  • Learning and Development: Take advantage of learning opportunities during the internship, including knowledge-sharing sessions with experienced professionals, and collaboration with other key partners at the bank.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Answers inquiries from project stakeholders.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
  • Maintains a current understanding of basic PMBOK guidelines.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Project Management, ITIS, or a related field.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Analytical mindset and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Basic understanding of Project Management principles.
  • Ability to work well in a team and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
