Under the general direction of the Chief Operating Officer, the Staff Services Manager I (Department Training Officer and SpecialProjects Manager) plays a pivotal role in assessing training needs, devising innovative solutions to address individual and department-wide training challenges, and delivering consultation services to continually enhance the skills of Department employees in a cost-effective manner. This role also involves close collaboration with CalHR's Workforce Development Division to identify and promote additional training opportunities that align with the evolving learning landscape. The incumbent is responsible for a range of trainingrelated tasks, including providing exemplary customer service to CalHR employees, staying abreast of training best practices, designing, and delivering targeted learning programs, and ensuring the completion of mandated training classes. The Department Training Officer and SpecialProjects Manager provides influential leadership and guidance for training and skill development initiatives throughout the organization, working in tandem with CalHR executive management. The incumbent aligns internal training offerings with the organization's strategic objectives.
