Position Overview
We are looking for a motivated and ambitious individual, receptive to training and continued education to plan and supervise a wide range of construction projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have experience in 2+ years managing construction projects and be able to work collaboratively with our construction crew, sub-contractors, engineers, and clients to ensure successful project completion. Extensive knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and building codes is a plus. The candidate will eventually need to become proficient in these areas through on-the-job experience/training. Comfortable with technology or other building plan materials are required.
Duties:
- Review construction plans, and other documents to ensure the accuracy of the project.
- Work collaboratively with Production Manager regarding project status on a weekly basis.
- Coordinate with architects, clients, engineers, construction workers, and city building inspectors to ensure project goals are met.
- Develop and manage projects and do regular job site visits to the projects.
- Schedule daily and/or weekly work schedules for the construction crew.
- Assist with estimating and contract preparation.
- Assist the construction crew and/or subcontractors with picking up small items from Home Depot/Lowes that are needed at the job sites to free up the crew's time.
Requirements:
- Advanced understanding of construction techniques, building codes, and plans.
- At least 2 years of experience in the construction industry.
- Strong time management skills and ability to multitask effectively.
- Good communication skills both verbal and written.
- Understanding of reading building plans.
- Technology literate - understanding and usage of Google software (Gmail, sheets, docs, share drive, etc), iPhone & iPad
- Be comfortable talking with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, the city building department, and interested potential clients.
- Must be able to adapt to a fast-changing environment with multiple projects (big and small).
- Mechanically inclined to understand building sciences, construction techniques, and building materials.
- Valid Driver’s License
