LC State invites applications for the position of Project Coordinator.
Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $52,050 - $56,000
Required Qualifications:
- At least three (3) years of experience in construction project planning and implementation. Includes budget management, materials procurement, and construction coordination.
- Microsoft Office Suite proficient (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a design and construction project workload.
- Ability to manage a work order system.
- Developing, promoting, and gaining project support.
- Interpreting and explaining specialized or complex material into information usable by the public.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree from a regionally or nationally accredited college or university.
- Ability to coordinate the work of skilled trades and maintenance shops.
- Ability to coordinate the work of off-campus contractors and vendors.
- Ability to coordinate with authorities having jurisdiction: State of Idaho Department of Administration, Division of Public Works (DPW), Division of Occupational & Professional Licenses (DOPL), State Fire Marshal, and other permitting authorities.
- Maintain project budgets and reports.
- Experience with construction processes and terminology.
- Coordination with stakeholder groups.
- Communicate project progress with department leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Review work order requests and schedules and assign those work orders to maintenance shops. Assists with materials and supplies purchases via an online procurement system.
- Manages a portfolio of design and construction projects: initiates meetings with stakeholder groups, helps develop project budgets and schedules, and coordinates the work of off-campus architects, engineers, and other specialty consultants.
- Interfaces with Division of Public Works personnel on state-funded projects. Also coordinates with authorities having jurisdiction (DOPL building official, State Fire Marshal) for code compliance.
- Attends project progress meetings with design professionals and contractors, helps ensure construction complies with the project plans and specifications, and inspects the work progress on-site.
- Assists the Physical Plant director in developing and executing special projects throughout the year, and executing special projects during semester breaks.
- Coordinates work with the Physical Plant maintenance shops, grounds crew, and custodial crew.
- Communicates work order and project progress with departments and college leadership. Generates emails, reports, and presentations to communicate progress with leadership.
- Coordinates with off-campus vendors and contractors to execute construction projects.
- Represent the college at project meetings, and coordinate project parameters with departments.
- Other duties as assigned by the Physical Plant director to assist with the maintenance and operations of the campus.
