The Program Coordinator oversees the day to day operations of The Hospitality Center by supporting the philosophy and mission statement of CHD. The Program Coordinator maintains a high level of commitment to program volunteers/student interns to assure that the center is able to provide the homeless people seeking assistance the necessary tools to accomplish their goals. The Program Coordinator will maintain a schedule of operations within the center including but not limited to hours of operation, use of equipment and supplies as well as a schedule of external support providers that may be able to further the individuals’ attempts to end their homelessness.
Responsibilities
- Orients, trains, and supervises all volunteers and student interns working at The Hospitality Center to ensure appropriate service delivery through observations and supervision in accordance with CHD Supervision policy
- Coordinates and oversees daily activities at The Hospitality Center including opening and closing the center, scheduling and use of laundry & showering facilities, scheduling on sight activities including on sight presentations by collaborating agencies and assuring a clean and safe environment for the center’s guests, volunteers and staff
- Create and maintain relationships with state, city and community agencies/resources including facilitating relationships with agencies not currently working with the homeless
- Reports all maintenance issues and required services including but not limited to areas such as plumbing, electrical, mechanical, snow removal, etc. to their direct supervisor
- Research and seek out additional community resources/relationships to enhance potential service referrals and support at the hospitality center
- Design, promote and participate in activities and events that promote empowerment and recovery
Requirements
- BA/BS Degree in Mental Health related field preferred
- One year supervisory experience required, two years in a human service organization preferred
- Two years’ experience working with adults with severe and prolonged mental illness and/or two years experience working with people in recovery
- Bilingual Preferred (English/Spanish)
Salary
$50,000 annually
Schedule
8:30am-4:30pm with some flexibility if coverage is needed
