This position will be responsible for Order Processing and scheduling manufacturing equipment to efficiently meet customer demand. The position is responsible for processing and scheduling jobs to minimize downtime, effectively utilizing equipment, and ensuring on-time delivery. This position has indirect contact with Customer Service to ensure Sonoco Elk Grove provides excellent service and support. This position reports directly to Production Planner III. You must have a proven record of success in a fast-paced environment. You must have the ability to work with various teams. You will take pride in your personal hands-on and analytical abilities, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
What you'll be doing:
Review open sales orders and utilize the ERP system to generate manufacturing orders.
Schedule production jobs to meet customer requirements while minimizing changeovers, downtime, and inventory.
Participate in daily production schedule meetings to understand plant performance and inquiries from the production team.
Review the accuracy of manufacturing orders per instruction.
Generate reports on the production status and schedule deviation.
Work with plant leadership and customers to address quality and service issues as assigned.
Meets with cross-functional team to resolve delayed customer shipments, overtime, priorities, and identified problems as required.
This role is a critical member of the SPS/(TPM) Supply Chain Pillar which actively seeks to lean out all processes.
Perform weekly audits as scheduled.
Perform other duties as required.
This position is in Elk Grove Village, Illinois in our Flexible Packaging Division.

4-year degree preferred – 3+ years of experience can substitute
ERP experience preferred. Previous experience in manufacturing is extremely helpful.
To succeed in this role, you will need excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Excel
Working independently and managing multiple tasks simultaneously is needed.
Being reliable, having good initiative, and being committed is a must.
Having the ability to effectively work with a team in a fast-paced environment is crucial to success.
Participate in and develop skillsets necessary for continuous improvement initiatives.
The person in this position will be flexible, have a positive attitude, be self-motivated, and have strong attention to detail.
Compensation:
The annual base salary range for this role is from $53,925 to $64,710.
