Friends School of Baltimore has an opening for a Pre-Primary Administrative Assistant to begin August 7, 2023. This 10.5 month, hourly position is responsible for creating and maintaining a welcoming environment to students, staff, families and all visitors in the Pre-Primary office and Multipurpose Room area. In addition, the Administrative Assistant will also be responsible for answering phones, assisting students during lunch, responding to parent requests and inquiries with courtesy and professionalism. The Pre-Primary Administrative Assistant also provides critical support to the Lower School Assistant Principal for the Pre-Primary, Pre-Primary faculty and works in close collaboration with the Lower School Administrative Assistant for Grades 1-5. The role works in concert with the campus-wide Divisional and Departmental office staff and may provide secondary support during high volume periods. Weekly hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM.
Responsibilities include:
- Proficiency in utilizing technology, specifically with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Working independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Processing invoices and other supply orders for faculty and administration.
- Creating schedules for teacher duties and other yearly events as needed.
- Collaboratively creating and inputting calendar events into our school's LMS.
- A positive and professional demeanor, including punctuality, flexibility, patience and a great sense of humor.
- Ability to maintain confidences/confidentiality
- Administrative experience preferred.
- Exceptional organizational, verbal and written communication skills
- Of particular interest are candidates with previous experience working with children and families in an educational setting.
- Candidates should demonstrate a willingness to understand and incorporate Quaker Principles and Quaker education into their work.
