Our client, a leading competitor in the Mechanical Engineering industry is looking for a Plumbing & Fire Design Engineer to join their team.
Candidates would ideally have 5+ years of experience in plumbing and Fire Protection system design for all buildings types to support their locations in the greater New York City area.
Candidates will have some or all of the following qualifications:
· 4-10 years of relevant professional US experience in plumbing building design
· Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering from an ABET EAC
· Accredited Program (Engineering Accreditation Commission). A technical degree and strong
· relevant experience may commensurate for bachelor’s degree.
· PE License Preferred. EIT's considered.
· Experience with AutoCAD MEP on similar projects is required.
· Familiarity with the National Plumbing Code, International Building Code, National Fuel Gas Code and NFPA 13 required.
· Knowledge of Hydracalc or other fire modeling/design software preferred.
Job Responsibilities also include:
· Prepare plumbing and/or Fire Protection system layouts, detailed drawings, schematics, and
· specifications while exercising judgment in design application
· Design plumbing systems for a wide array of building technologies
· Develop design solutions for Fire Protection sprinkler systems
· Prepare engineering deliverables and drawings including presentation materials, calculations,
· construction documents, specifications, design analysis and project completion records.
· Manage projects to include project schedules and coordination of project work
· Provide technical information and assistance to project engineer or team leader
· Attend preliminary job meetings with clients (owners and/or architects) to evaluate scope of work to be performed on proposed or assigned project(s)
· Respond to code comments and resolves permit issues with code officials
