Job Description
JOB DESCIPTION: Augment Steam/ Mechanical engineering staff by performing a Hazard Analysis for the West 59th St Fuel Oil Conversion project. Use of engineering study and experience to review station documentation and plans to create an final Hazard Assessment report and to identical any and all risk to the plant based on the change of Fuel oil.
The candidate must use technical competence and field experience to review fire alarm and Fire Protection plans for code compliance. Must be able to independently perform reviews of plans prepared by others.
Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering required at a minimum. Requires strong knowledge in the design of fire alarm and Fire Protection systems. Must have a working knowledge of all applicable codes such as NFPA, NEC, FDNY, NYC and NYS Building Codes, etc., and ensure compliance with them. Computer (Microsoft Office) skills required.
Preference will be given to those with prior working relationship with local city agencies in promoting new and creative methods for Fire Protection and detection of industrial occupancy hazards.
