Our client, an established specialized fabricating manufacturer located south of the greater Portland metro area, is seeking an experienced, full-time Payroll Specialist to join their team! This on-site position is responsible for full-cycle payroll processing for 250+ employees in multiple states. Serving their customers for nearly 50 years, this employer values their team and provides a robust benefits package including covering 85% of health, dental, and vision for the employee and immediate family members.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process and complete bi-weekly payroll for multi-states and review hours worked for all hourly employees to ensure accuracy, process employee changes, and produce payroll reports.
- Complete bi-weekly check requests for voluntary deductions taken out of employee's payroll checks to pay for benefits, 401k deferrals, and garnishments.
- Set up accounts for all out-of-state agencies, and new out-of-state employees for income taxes, Sui, and local taxes, and set up in the payroll system.
- Reviews HR documents to determine names, rates of pay, and positions of newly hired workers, and manages inputting information into ADP payroll systems.
- Respond to private, State, and Federal agencies for employee garnishments, wage withholding orders, and verification of employment.
- Processes, calculates, and enters garnishment deduction amounts for every payroll cycle.
- Maintain employee and other record-keeping requirements.
- Responsible for producing annual review packets, reports, and other information for managers and entering changes into the payroll system.
- Verify FMLA and OFLA leave of absence for approval and or rejection.
- Provide all the employee data for our annual Affirmative action plan and our annual EEOC-1 compliance reporting.
- Provides data for life, pension, and disability benefit claims.
- Completes worker compensation payroll reports and participates in annual audits.

QUALIFICATIONS
- 2-5 years of related experience, preferably in similar manufacturing, construction, or trades industries. An associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year College is preferable, but not a requirement.
- Ability to generate reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Extensive knowledge of Human Resource systems; ADP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and database software.
