Job summary
Processing of US hourly and salaried payrolls. Compilation of CAN payroll data to send to ADP for processing. Maintain payroll records and posting of payroll journal entries. Vacation and sick bank administration. Perform various month-end tasks, analyses and reconciliations. Support Year-end reporting, benefit invoices processing, and 401K funding.
Key responsibility areas (by order of importance)
Weekly and Bi-weekly payroll processing
Validate approvals and Timeclocks entries for hourly payroll. Validate PTO approvals for all payrolls. Enter adjustments in ADP to process payroll.
Perform analysis (balancing) of current to previous week.
Post Journal entries of payroll processed in Syspro
Process 401K funding in a timely manner
Vacation and Sick bank
Perform reconciliation of ADP system PTO module to ADP payroll module.
Verify CAN payroll processing of PTO is done accurately, and all banks movement is accurate as well
Accrue CAN vacation at month-end
Month-end
Reporting including headcount reporting, payroll and vacation accruals, adjusting entries, and GL reconciliations
Others
In charge of payroll email (internal and external)
Support year-end reporting US+ CAN
Support projects as needed
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
Proficient with computers and Excel (intermediate to high)
Payroll knowledge (CAN payroll an asset)
ADP Workforce Now an asset, Syspro considered an asset
Able to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure in an efficient manner Interested in process improvement while demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness.
