JOB SUMMARY: This position oversees payroll administration. The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for monitoring all tasks necessary to accomplish the organization’s payroll processing objectives, including relationships with state and federal agencies. This position requires the compilation and recording of employee time and payroll data. This position will be responsible for computing employees’ time worked, production, commissions, post wages and deductions, W-2 forms, benefit information, direct deposit forms and tax filing documents, collect missing timesheets, resolve any payroll issues, and prepare paychecks.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred.
- Two to three years’ experience in payroll processing

- Ability to interact and communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated familiarity with computers and calculators.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Excel
- Working knowledge of payroll best practices
- Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations
- Ability and willingness to contribute to quality efforts.
- Demonstrated organizational and management skills.
- Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material.
- Ability to sit most of the working day
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Perform daily payroll department operations.
- Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
- Understand proper taxation of employer and employee paid benefits.
- Ensure processing of new hires, temporary workers, transfers, promotions, and termination is accurate and timely.
- Responsible for processing correct support order and garnishment calculations and compliance
- Responsible for processing unemployment claims
- Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W-2, W-2c, etc.)
- Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed.
- Process manual check and relocation metrics
- Responsible for completing and maintaining data entry for employee records.
- Calculate bonuses and commissions.
- Research and email appropriate audience of file issues
- Ensure systems are set up to reflect the current employee base, including wages, benefits, sick and vacation time, etc.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues or concerns.
- Review and audit master file and pay data entries, TYD totals, and file amendments.
- Ensure that computing, withholdings, and deductions are calculated correctly.
