Key Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for accurate onboarding and offboarding of Flight Training Instructors and Evaluators into United's recognized payroll systems. This includes handling daily, weekly, and monthly activities which require analysis and audits of Training Instructor (Pilot) and Fleet Technical Instructor pay in conjunction with the approved union guidelines. Provides salary rate analysis for new hire and transfer IE's to Recruiting Team. Responsible to implement pay adjustments in a timely manner with the additional time sensitive task for updating Pay Protection for over 538 I/E's according to UPA bidding guidelines. This position participates in the implementation of processes to mitigate and resolve any recurring errors as determined by payroll managers. Assists in the completion of payroll close and subsequent reporting output to Finance and Senior Management. This includes all aspects of payroll including but not limited to the reviewing of timecards, processing exceptions, responding to payroll inquiries, and handling research and analysis of Training Instructor and FTI payroll concerns daily. Also work closely with the Training Scheduling team and Fleet Managers to ensure schedules and absences are recorded accurately to ensure accurate payments.

  • Onboarding / Offboarding into various Payroll Systems
  • Ongoing development of monthly / bi-weekly Management & Finance Reports
  • Running pay updates to critical proprietary systems (COSMOS/PR/FILEZILLA)
  • Reviewing of Timecards, Processing Exceptions, Responding to Inquiries, Research and Analysis
  • Providing salary rate analysis
  • Implementing Pay Adjustments/Time critical updates for Displacement / Vacancy Bids
  • Required meetings / Training Sessions / Documentation Updates

What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 or more years of payroll or equivalent experience required
  • Current or previous Pilot Crew Scheduling experience
  • Knowledge of union UPA and IAM pay regulations
  • Understanding of Training Curriculum in accordance to Training Instructor pay progression
  • Knowledge of software (Windows Outlook, Excel, Word,)
  • COSMOS /FOX/PR systems knowledge required
  • Ability to implement and detail efficient processes
  • Excellent analysis, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job
  • Must have strong analytical skills and be detail oriented
  • Must be highly organized and a standout colleague

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience
  • 1 year of pilot pay experience in crew pay centralized payroll functions

The salary for this position is $38,770 to $56,870, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education and skills. This range is based on a full-time schedule.
