POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for daily billing activities, administrative duties, and act as a liaison for the Hospital and 24 ON Physicians.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITILES:
- Notification of daily Admissions and Discharge notices to the local PCP’s via phone call or fax
- Enter Daily Census Reporting Information in the patient census log via Excel Spreadsheet
- Daily Enter billing charges of providers into the billing software
- Research and work weekly billing and A/R reports
- Assist with department reports and monthly reports for supervisor and hospital administration
- Assist the Medical Director with administration of staffing, program marketing and records maintenance
- Execute responsibilities within the bylaws of the Hospital
- Provide administrative support to Physicians
- Ensures that the policies and procedures of the hospitalist practice are integrated with the Hospital to assure a high quality of services.
- Ensures that appropriate communication is provided to the Corporate Office regarding the services and progress of the practice.
- Responsible for answering routine questions and coordinating calls to appropriate personnel
- Responsible for timely completion of I9 forms for Physicians
- Work closely with corporate billing team in retrieving additional information for billing
- Some knowledge of appointments scheduling for patient tracking purposes.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate or Equivalent to a High School Diploma
- Experience with Medical Terminology
- Experience coding ICD-9 (diagnosis codes) CPT Codes
- Specialized Medical Billing Training and/or back office experience
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good organizational skills with ability to multitask
- Basic math skills
- Experience in applying general office policies and procedures
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Previous experience with Group Practice, Hospital Setting, and/or Health Plans
- Must possess proven skills in problem solving, interpersonal relationships and detailed orientation
- Genuine care and concern for the needs of callers and the ability to identify their needs
- Microsoft Office skills – emphasis on Excel and Microsoft Word
Desired Certifications:
Certified Professional Coder
This position requires access to Protected Health Information (PHI). The information accessed is limited to the minimum necessary PHI required to perform the employee’s job (i.e. for claim processing, patient admissions, etc.). PHI is accessed through various computer applications, direct contact with the patient or family members and/or contact with hospital departments such as Health Information Services, Case Management, and/or other hospital departments with whom interaction is necessary.

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
