Job Information: Job Title: Program Coordinator.Job Type: Exempt, Grant funded (Continuation of grant funded position is contingent upon availability of funding). Department: Development & Strategic Initiatives.Reports to: Director of Development & Strategic Initiatives.Job Location: San Diego, CA.Schedule: Full-time - Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Hybrid (In office/remote).Starting Salary: $66,560 - $75,000/year. Job Summary: The Program Coordinator will play a vital and strategic role in coordinating and supporting the design and implementation of a family childcare apprenticeship program and other programs between United Domestic Workers (UDW) and external partnerships. This individual will be responsible for overseeing and executing various initiatives and tasks to ensure the successful implementation and operations of the program. By coordinating projects, facilitating partnerships, communication, and meetings, recruiting apprentices, and providing comprehensive support services, the Program Coordinator will contribute to the smooth operation and overall success of the program, thereby meeting the training and education needs of UDW members. Duties and Responsibilities: Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the Apprenticeship Program, ensuring its effective implementation.Develop project plans, timelines, and deliverables to ensure successful completion of program objectives.Monitor and evaluate project progress, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.Serve as a point of contact for communication between the educational institutional partner and UDW.Facilitate regular meetings with key stakeholders to design the apprenticeship program and standards, discuss program updates, challenges, and opportunities for collaboration.Work with the key stakeholders to register the apprenticeship program with the state’s Department of Apprenticeship StandardsMaintain strong relationships with partner organizations and ensure effective communication channels are established and maintained.Develop strategies to recruit apprentices from within the UDW membership.Collaborate with UDW leadership to identify potential apprentices and promote the benefits of the apprenticeship program.Coordinate recruitment efforts, including outreach events, informational sessions, and promotional materials.Recruit experienced care providers to serve as mentors for apprentices.Provide guidance and support to mentors throughout the program, ensuring they have the necessary resources and training to effectively support apprentices.Facilitate mentor-apprentice matches based on compatibility and learning goals.Coordinate wrap-around services for apprentices, including but not limited to academic support, counseling, childcare, transportation, and financial assistance.Work closely with community partners, agencies, and organizations to connect apprentices with appropriate resources and support services.Advocate for the needs of apprentices and work towards improving their overall experience and success in the program.Regularly monitor and evaluate program activities and outcomes to determine effectiveness and impact.Collect and analyze data related to apprentice enrollment, retention, and graduation rates.Prepare comprehensive reports on program performance, highlighting successes, challenges, and areas for improvement.Present findings and recommendations to key stakeholders, using data-driven insights to inform future program strategies. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of Grant Programs: Understanding various grant programs, funding sources, and eligibility criteria applicable to program coordination.Research Skills: Proficiency in conducting comprehensive research to identify potential opportunities and gather relevant information for program applications.Grant Writing: Ability to write compelling and persuasive proposals that effectively communicate the organization's mission, goals, and project objectives to secure funding.Facilitation Skills: strong skills to facilitate meetings and decision-making processes among diverse stakeholders.Budgeting and Financial Management: Knowledge of budgeting principles and experience in developing realistic budgets for program proposals. Ability to manage funds, track expenses, and ensure compliance with financial regulations.Evaluation and Reporting: Familiarity with performance evaluation methodologies and experience in monitoring and assessing program outcomes. Ability to generate reports and complete progress updates for funders.Project Management: Strong organizational and time management skills to plan, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and effectively manage multiple program initiatives simultaneously.Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate program goals, objectives, and outcomes. Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and maintain clear and effective communication channels.Relationship Building: Ability to cultivate and maintain positive relationships with funders, partners, and community stakeholders. Skill in networking, collaboration, and engaging stakeholders in program activities.Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness in program applications, budgets, and reports. Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a related field, Education, Social Sciences, Business Administration.7+ years of experience in program coordination and project management, preferably within the education or workforce development sector.7+ years of experience in or knowledge of apprenticeship programs.Strong understanding of grant management, including grant writing, budgeting, and reporting.Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands.Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.Proficient in using project management tools and software.Knowledge of best practices in program evaluation and data analysis.Ability to think strategically and creatively in problem-solving and decision-making processes.Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team.Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.Knowledge of current trends and developments in education or workforce development is a plus.Energetic, enthusiastic, and self-motivated.Excellent time management and prioritization skills.Fluency in Spanish.
