Part Time Intake Coordinator/Medical Biller

Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze medical documentation to ensure accurate coding and billing
- Assign appropriate medical codes using ICD-10 and other coding systems
- Verify patient information and insurance coverage for billing purposes daily as needed
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies electronically through EMR
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resubmit as necessary
- Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies or issues
- Stay updated on industry changes and regulations related to medical billing

- Contact new patients and assist through intake process and verify eligibility

- Support clinical staff with facilitating scheduling/billing concerns

- Facilitate credentialing process for new clinical hires for group practice

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred
- Proven experience as a medical biller or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of medical coding, terminology, and billing procedures
- Familiarity with ICD-10 coding system and other coding systems
- Proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and billing software
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

- Preferred experience with billing EMR Simple Practice or like kind

Note: Experience with medical collections, DRG coding, or working in a medical office setting is a plus.
