Administrative/Events Support

Hours:  Part-time; average 15 hours/week.

About the Position:

The Perkiomen Valley Chamber of Commerce is seeking a dynamic, energetic and charismatic person to provide office and event support. This position will require 15+ hours/week depending on workload to support 350 business members in this non-profit organization.

Key responsibilities:

The goal for this position is to help manage the flow of the office and

present quality interactions with our members and the public. The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, those described below:

1.Handle office related tasks including answering phone calls and walk in visits, managing event registrations, responding to email requests for information, mailing out information and updating records.

2.Bookkeeping - process all the transactions related to Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable in an accurate and timely manner using Quickbooks; create invoices for Membership, Sponsorship, Advertising; vendor payment processing.

3.Database management that includes QuickBooks, Excel spreadsheets and online/print membership directories.

4.Event support includes registration management, social media posts, name tags, mailings.

5.Management of weekly E-newsletter, community events on website, Chamber events on website, social media presence.

6.Set-up and Break-down at Signature Chamber events (this scheduling will be worked out in advance).

7.Administrative responsibilities as necessary, ordering supplies, errands to post office, bank, coordinate and distribute new member packets, creating letters for events/fundraising, etc.

8.Additional tasks may include content creation for promotion of events and activities, fundraising and event letters.

Desired Experience & Skills: 

Proficient in MS products including Word, Publisher, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Quickbooks experience.

Excellent spreadsheet skills necessary to create and administer budgets and reports.

Familiarity with Constant Contact.

Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.

Maintains a high level of confidentiality.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Dependable, friendly and outgoing attitude, eagerness to assist others and work in a team environment.

A creative mind with an ability to suggest improvements.

Must have reliable transportation.
