St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute, an all-boys Lasallian Catholic high school in Buffalo, NY, announces an immediate opening for the position of Facilities Associate. The successful candidate will assist in the maintenance of the school facilities, including groundskeeping, painting, general cleaning, and general repairs. This person will report to the Director of Facilities. The position is a part-time (24-30 hours per week), 12-month position.
Responsibilities:
- General cleaning, surface, and windows, sweeping, mopping etc.
- Emptying indoor and outdoor trash.
- Assist in setting up and tearing down events.
- Work during special events to attend to needs.
- Light repairs, painting, and routine maintenance.
- Lawn mowing, weed whacking, leaf blowing, and landscaping.
- Snow shoveling and salting.
Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:
- Requires prolonged sitting or standing.
- Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
- Requires stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning, and reaching.
- Requires climbing and balancing.
- Must work indoors and outdoors year-round.
- Must work in noisy and crowded environments.
- Must work in and around dust, fumes, and odors.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent experience.
- Desire to continue career improvement.
- Ability to read chemical labels and material safety data sheets (MSDS).
- Ability to initiate and complete work orders.
- Must have a cell phone.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Drivers License.
- Prior facilities work experience.
Compensation:
Starting salary ranges from $20,500- $36,000 based on experience. Benefits include generous paid time off and holidays, flexible scheduling, and tuition benefits.
