We have an exciting opportunity available for you to join our team in a hybrid position as a Physical/ Occupational Therapy (PT/ OT) Patient Coordinator/ PT Aide in our Wall office. In this highly visible role, you will be interacting with patients, families and health care providers. In addition to assisting of Team of Physical Therapists as an PT Aide.
Position Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a medical receptionist or customer service field
- Knowledge of physical/Occupational Therapy practice protocols related to scheduling appointments and managed care referral/ prior authorization procedures
- Understanding of medical, physical and Occupational Therapy terminology is preferred
- Excellent computer skills including MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and Internet use
- Ability to communicate effectively with therapists about scheduling preferences
- Flexible schedule to work all shifts (some evening hours required)
- Excellent communication skills, writing and interpersonal skills are required (bilingual is a benefit)
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Greets/assists patients, answer phones and returns messages in a courteous manner
- Maintain collection & data entry of accurate patient demographic and insurance information
- Schedule appointments based on company policies and procedures
- Complete prior authorizations and insurance verifications
- Collect copayments and/or past due balances, post charges and close with reconciliation of the day
- Assist in a hybrid capacity of supporting Physical Therapists as PT Aide such as preparing treatment area, equipment, and materials. Prepares treatment tables for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols
- Must also have general knowledge of anatomy, kinesiology, and therapeutic exercises
