Job Purpose
Responsible for the successful execution of the assigned project package by coordinating all the disciplines involved such as engineering, procurement, inspection, testing, transport, etc., in accordance with TechnipFMC QHSES corporate policies, contractual commitments (design data, codes, classes etc.), schedule and budget.
Job Description
The primary responsibilities of Package Engineering position include but are not limited to the following:
  • Reinforce and strengthen the HSES and Quality culture at every opportunity and promote correct behaviors through personal actions.
  • Participate in the identification of work scope risks, including the development and implementation of risk mitigations.
  • Comply with corporate standards, Client requirements (contract), government regulations and industry standards.
  • Deliver high quality, safe and environmentally responsible engineered solutions.
  • Assist Manager in the identification and development of Discipline Engineering Technical Guidelines and other general support.
  • The Package Engineer is the Client facing conduit for Installation and Construction.
  • Control and monitor all interfaces within scope of work of the departments and subcontractors during execution of the project work.
  • Develop a detailed deliverables list for inclusion into the Master Document List / Master Equipment List for each assigned scope of work / Project.
  • Responsible for technical integrity, timeliness and budget of all project engineering activities and temporary works associated with the scope of work / Project.
  • Interface with TechnipFMC Installation and Construction (Survey, Pre-commissioning, VDT / Installation Engineering, Installation Analysis, Structural Design and Drafting), SURF Operations and Subsea Services Departments to ensure that designs and procedures meet installation requirements.
  • Provides support to the Installation & Construction Department during the identification and/or design of installation aids and non-pressure containing equipment for mobilization / installation activities.
  • Responsible for reviewing / approving engineering deliverables produced by the Installation & Construction Department for the project and for field support and execution.
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors including kick-off meetings, progress monitoring, inspections, review of as-built data, interfaces, audit etc.
  • Participate (and lead where appropriate) in design control and operability meetings as appropriate e.g. Design Reviews, Constructability, HIRA, Offshore Readiness Reviews, Lessons Learned etc. Ensure all actions are addressed and implemented into the appropriate procedures.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to the assigned Graduate Engineer(s) and Engineers (Levels 1 and 2).
  • Responsible for reviewing / approving engineering tasks/deliverables assigned to Graduate and Engineers (Levels 1 and 2) during project preparation.
  • Coordinates mobilization/demobilization and onsite/offshore support ensuring oversight of relevant fabrication, testing and installation activities.
  • Provide technical justification for Technical Queries and Non-Conformance Reports.
  • Produce tender and commercial proposal deliverables such as technical bid evaluations, Method Statements and Material Take-Offs.
  • Requirement to go offshore (Globally) on installation vessels, platforms, FPSO, etc.
  • Requirement to visit onsite (Globally) fabrications / manufacturing facilities and support mobilization and demobilization activities.

Description
In addition to the responsibilities above, a Package Engineer may be assigned specifically to support one of the following:
o General Project Engineering
  • Develop and support mobilization and demobilization activities.
  • Develop installation procedures (includes task plans, lift plans, rigging designs and story boards) and support offshore executions.
  • Develop pull in procedures and support offshore executions.
  • Develop diving manuals and support offshore executions.
  • Cover the onsite engineering support for project fabrication and testing.

o Rigid Package Management Engineering
  • Supply of Rigid Pipelines.
  • Supply of Coating of Rigid Pipelines.
  • Spool base Stalk Fabrication Support.
  • Component Manufacturing (anodes, strakes, buoyancies, taper stress joints, etc.).
  • Logistics of the equipment to the required facility(ies).

o Umbilical Package Management Engineering
  • Support the supply of 3rd party Umbilicals.
  • Support the supply of component manufacturing (anodes, buoyancies, bend restrictors, Bend Stiffeners, etc.).
  • Mobilization activities of the umbilical and components onto the installation vessel.

o General Package Management Engineering
  • Follow the design, fabrication and supply of installation aids and non-pressure containing equipment.
  • Follow the design, fabrication and supply of hull piping, clamps and closing spools.
  • Follow the design, fabrication and supply of any other TechnipFMC items of supply for an EPCI project not covered in the categories above or falling in a defined TechnipFMC product category (such as Flow Control, Subsea Distribution which are covered by Delivery Managers) .

You are meant for this job if:
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent (Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer-in-training (EIT) preferred).
  • Greater than 3 years of experience in offshore/subsea industry with particular emphasis in SURF installation, package management, interface engineering, and platform operations.
  • Ability to obtain a TWIC, passport, working visa(s) and medical certs such as BOSIET and OGUK.

Knowledge/ Skills
  • Understanding of Subsea Umbilical's, Risers, and Flowline (SURF) infrastructure with general awareness of SPS (Subsea Production Systems).
  • Awareness of standards and regulations such as API and DNVGL. Ability to research and apply the required codes to given areas as needed.
  • Ability to be a leader, to direct and provide guidance to team members.
  • Has proven strengths in diverse and multi-cultural environments. Must have the ability to adapt, to establish and maintain strong relationships internally and externally.
  • Must have strong planning, organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workloads and to define/maintain cost basis and schedules.
  • Must have proven communications skills with the ability to tailor messaging to multiple types of audiences to include technical and non-technical, internal and external clients, vendors, and leadership.
  • Communication in this context includes but is not limited to verbal, presentation, digital, and body language.

Work Environment:
  • Office based position with occasional trips offshore.
  • 75% office environment and 25% field (onshore / offshore; days / nights) environment. The office environment is a flexible working program with includes a minimum of 2 days in the office a week and 3 days maximum working from home.
  • Travel required to support mobilization, demobilization and offshore operations domestically and internationally.

Physical Demands:
  • Frequent sitting and operating a computer when in the office.
  • Frequent walking, standing, climbing stairs / ladders while onboard the vessel and platforms, as well as exposure to sea conditions (vessel movement, summer heat, etc.)
