What You’ll Bring
Tesla’s Lithium Crystallization Team is looking for a highly motivated, experienced Equipment Package Engineer to join our dynamic team building novel processing facilities. Through a high degree of creative freedom, you’ll be working alongside a muti-disciplinary team on the execution of first-of-a-kind projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for procuring Equipment Packages from original concept through to purchasing and installation, ensuring that all aspects of the design meet technical specifications, industry standards, and processing requirements.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives
- Develop conceptual designs for Equipment Packages based on process specifications and industry standards
- Create detailed specifications, data sheets and other required documentation for Equipment Packages
- Perform mechanical calculations to ensure the integrity and reliability of equipment designs
- Work closely with procurement teams to source and select materials, components, and suppliers for Equipment Packages
- Coordinate with manufacturing and fabrication teams to ensure that Equipment Packages are built to the highest quality standards
- Conduct technical reviews and evaluations of equipment designs to identify areas for improvement and optimization
- Provide technical support and guidance throughout the installation and commissioning process
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, codes, and standards
What You’ll Bring
- Self-motivated and inclusive team player with an inclusive nature and natural curiously
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or a related field, with at least 3 years of industrial experience, or equivalent
- Proven experience in Equipment Package design, preferably in the chemical or mineral refining industry
- Familiarity with equipment components of crystallization processes, such as centrifuges, heat exchangers, MVR vapor compressors, entrainment separators, agitators, filters and dryers
- Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards, such as ASME, API, and ANSI
- Willingness to travel (~25%)
