Position Overview: As the Controller at GJM Advisory, you will play a pivotal role in building financial reporting processes for GJM’s many business clients. Additionally, you will implement robust internal controls and month-end close SOP’s to enable internal or external bookkeeping teams to close the books in a timely and accurate manner. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in controllership, SMB/early stage accounting, financial management, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) or OCBOA.
- Generate insightful financial reports for management, offering key insights and recommendations.
- Tax Season Support:
- Support GJM staff and external clients in the preparation of annual tax filings and tax strategy
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Support the budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with department heads to develop accurate and achievable financial plans.
- Monitor budget variances and provide timely analysis to support decision-making.
- Internal Controls:
- Design and implement effective internal control processes to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Regularly assess the effectiveness of existing controls and propose improvements as necessary.
- Cash Flow Management:
- Manage cash flow effectively to meet operational needs and optimize investment opportunities.
- Implement strategies to enhance liquidity and minimize financial risks.
- Ensure timely and accurate provision of all necessary documentation and information.
- Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing financial insights and support for decision-making.
- Work closely with the finance team to mentor and develop staff members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation required.
- Proven experience as a Controller or similar role in an operating company.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in financial management software and MS Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
