JOB DESCRIPTION
Office Administrative Assistant
All active staff members of the First Congregational Church on the Green are expected to support the Church in exuding and promoting its core values; as well as seeking to fulfill the vision and mission of the church in their respective roles.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Publisher and any other relevant Office programs. Knowledge of Quickbooks desired.
- Bachelor or Associate Degree helpful, or at least three-years experience working in an office setting. Non profit and faith-based work a big plus.
- Database management experience required. Experience with Shelby System preferred.
- Good written and oral communication skills, and strong organizational skills require.
- Demonstrate integrity and concern for confidential information.
- Mature self-starter with an ability to work independently, prioritize work flow, and multi-task.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide administrative support to the Senior Pastor along with supporting staff and leaders in the administrative functions of the church.
- Prepare communications for church: bulletin, electronic bulletin, and announcements for the wider church and community.
- Communicate well with leaders of the church, staff, and community partners by responding effectively to questions and concerns, and passing information along to appropriate persons.
- Record cash receipts from donors, pledges, gifts, etc. and utilize donor software (Shelby) while working closely with the bookkeeper and finance team around weekly/monthly reporting. Serve as liaison for organizations/programs utilizing church property.
- Maintain and enhance systems/processes for facility usage, special services, and equipment use.
- Keep abreast of State requirements impacting staff, i.e. Family Leave, approved holidays, and safe church policies.
- Attend staff meetings and other meetings when needed.
- Knowledge and proficiency using social media for the purpose of managing (posting/monitoring/updating) the church's social media platforms (i.e. FaceBook, Instagram, etc,)
- Other related duties as assigned
COMPENSATION AND WORK EXPECTATIONS:
$20/HOUR : 20 -25 hours
Work is conducted on-site in our administration building. Some meetings/projects conducted virtually.
SUPERVISORY ACCOUNTABILITY:
Employee reports to the Senior Pastor of the First Congregational Church on the Green with oversight by the Personnel Committee.
