Job Summary and Qualifications

EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED: Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing, a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science, or a Master’s Degree in Public Health or Epidemiology required. BSN preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED:

Registered Nurse: 1 year infection control and 3 years clinical nursing experience preferred. All others: at least 2 years acute care hospital and infection control experience preferred.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

Demonstrated skills in organization, verbal and written communications, customer service, math, analysis, reading, following instruction, basic computer usage.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

Registered Nurse: FL RN license or appropriate compact licensure required. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 90 days of hire.

All others: appropriate licensure for profession if applicable.

Certification in Infection Prevention and Control preferred or eligible to certify in Infection Prevention within two years of hire.
