Lakeview Cemetery Association (LCA) is looking for a Office and Operations Assistant (35-38 hours weekly) to join our team in Bridgeport. This In-Office position is located at 885 Boston Avenue in Bridgeport. This is not a remote or hybrid position.

Job Description:
The Office and Operations Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to all members of the team. This includes answering phone calls, responding to emails, scanning documents, and other duties as assigned. You will greet customers and families in person, while assisting them, and learning the operations of the cemetery business. Dependability, maturity, and timeliness is very important in the position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet visitors and direct them to the appropriate person or department.
- Answer phone calls and direct calls to the appropriate person or department.
- Maintain and upgrade office organization, policies, and practices.
- Maintain LCA email inbox and communications.
- Assist in the Accounts Payable process using QuickBooks.
- Organize vendor files and vendor relationships.
- Manage daily mail process.
- Support LCA marketing and sales programs, and communications.
- Support the Executive Director in daily business operations.
- Participate in the rollout, administration, and training for new cemetery administrative and operational software.
- File and maintain documents in proper order.
- You will learn the cemetery business – administration and Operations.
- Learn and support the burial and cremation administration processes.
- Organize and maintain office procedures and policies.
- Maintain office supplies inventory and ordering.
- Support and lead projects using MS365, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Maintain office security and safety procedures.
- Maintain general office operations and workflow by completing all daily tasks accurately and with minimal supervision.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management or supervisor.
- Ensure that all required paperwork is completed and submitted per procedures per manager's instructions and state regulations.
- Maintain contact lists and file updated reports accordingly.
- Work with management on various projects as assigned by management.
- Other office duties, as assigned by management.
Required Skills:
· Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively listen, speak, write, and present ideas verbally and in writing.
· Excellent listening skills with the ability to understand the needs of others and take action to help others as needed or requested by the office team.
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects competing for attention.
· Ability to work independently when necessary or as part of a team when required depending on the position requirements of the team member.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a sense of urgency while completing tasks in a timely manner while working on multiple projects competing for attention in a fast-paced environment.
· Dependability and punctuality are important requirements.
The candidate must have strong demonstratable computer skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Strong general computer skills are also required.
Job Type: full-time Hourly (35 – 38 hours per week)
Salary: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
