Job Title: Office Administrator
- The office Administrator is the initial point of contact for church operations, playing a vital role in keeping daily operations running through booking events, coordinating volunteers, and directing people to information.
Primary Responsibilities
- Schedule groups for building use, serving as contact person for all events
- Maintain church calendar of events with room assignments, coordinating with event contacts and church Facility Manager regarding setup needs
- Maintain church database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date member information
- Answer phones and emails and respond to walk-in visitors during office hours
- Help prepare communications for distribution including bulletins, emails, and mailings
- Work with pastoral staff and Graphic Designer to maintain an up-to-date webpage
- Communicate with Serve Team Leads to share information about volunteer needs
- Perform other general office duties such as ordering office supplies, maintaining copy machine, etc.
Skills, Experience, and Disposition
- Be a self-starter capable of staying organized and prioritizing workload
- Demonstrate proficiency with email & Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Possess the ability to learn new systems
- Possess Christ-centered, joy-filled passion for ministry
- Commit to always reflect in the best possible light West Des Moines Christian Church, its staff, and the mission, vision & values of the congregation
- Previous business or administrative experience preferred
Position Details
- Hourly, 30+ hours
- Required presence during the church's weekday operating hours (Monday - Thursday 9:00 am - 4:00 pm; Friday 9:00 am - noon)
- Continuing education in your area of ministry (minimum of 5 hours/year) (*approved expenses covered by the church)
- Pay range: $20/hr - $23/hr
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
