Medical Receptionist

We are looking for an extraordinary Medical Receptionist to help us change and save lives! Our clinic needs a friendly, respectful, energetic, and well organised individual to join our expanding team.

The position we are filling is for the Medical Receptionist. You will be the first person the patient sees when they enter our clinic. You will welcome them with a smile and friendly greeting and offer them a beverage. You will do a variety of clerical work behind the scenes as well to ensure our Doctors of Physical Therapy are set up for success for each appointment. The ideal candidate will be able to maintain accuracy while multitasking, problem solve in a busy medical clinic, and will utilise excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Our Front Desk Team is the gateway to the clinic and we want to offer a relaxed and healing environment to all patients that walk through our doors. We believe it is our responsibility to be patient advocates and give them the best tools to achieve their goals of pain relief and greater mobility.

The primary duties:

• Greet and Check patients in with warmth, care and conversation.
• Manage Schedules
• Take payments for appointments and manage patient receipts.
• Accountability to assist in patient's staying on track with their recommended plan of care.
• Answer, retrieve, and return incoming phone calls.
• Complies with HIPAA requirements, protecting the privacy and confidentiality of an individual’s health information.
• Answer patient questions or directing them to the appropriate staff member who can help.
• Completes other tasks as assigned by Front Desk Lead or Clinical Director.
• Conducts self in accordance with company policies, procedures and the handbook.
• Check and reply appropriately to office Emails from website and internal office staff
• Prepare patient paperwork and be ready when they arrive
• Open and prepare front desk for success.
• Participate and support internal and external marketing promotions.
• Learn terminology for medical insurance to describe financial responsibility to patients.

Work Schedule:
This is a full-time 40 hour per week position in Oshkosh, WI. The person hired will work
Monday-Friday.

The clinic is open from 7am until 7pm Monday – Thursday and 7am to 5 pm on Friday. The position will include working some early shifts (starting at 6:45am) and some late shifts (ending at 7pm) each week. The actual work schedule will be determined later in the hiring process and is flexible.

Job Requirements:
Prior experience in a medical office setting is required.

PHYSICAL DEMAND CAPACITY CLERICAL STAFF:

Consistent with published industry PDC norms or minimally:

• Requires the manual dexterity and general strength and endurance
• Lifting—routinely loads of 5-35 pounds (occasionally up to 50 pounds) from
• Floor to waist
• Waist to shoulder
• Shoulder to overhead
• Carrying—routinely loads of 5-10# for 180-330 minutes daily, and occasionally up to 50# for 30-180 minutes daily
• Pushing---occasionally loads of 5-50#

EXPOSURE DETERMINATION:

· Has the potential for Hazardous Substance Exposure due to work duties

· Has the potential for Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure due to work duties

HIPAA STATUS:

· Has been determined as eligible for access to/use of PHI & EPHI based on work duties and responsibilities in compliance with ‘minimal necessary’ standards

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
