Medical Receptionist

Scope:

Handles scheduling of clinic appointments and procedures, both in person and over the telephone, including validating eligibility and registering patients. Position requires standing for long periods of time.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Effectively interact with clinic patients, physicians, WHF employees and outside agency personnel
• Maintain and coordinate physician/patient schedules and appointments via NextGen computer system
• Respond to and refer incoming phone calls
• Verify WHF members/non-members eligibility
• Verify patients current demographics when scheduling appointments
• Assist the Medical Office with miscellaneous duties
• Create new patient charts and health history
• Build and maintain cooperative working relationships with team members
• Follow policy and procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the department
• Responsible for opening clinic and securing at closing when instructed to do so
• Customer service skills essential

Experience & Education Required:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Basic computer skills
• Bilingual a plus
• Previous medical reception experience preferred, but not necessary
