Otolaryngology Associates is hiring for a Medical Receptionist. The individual will be responsible for the following:
Greet patients, check in/check out procedures in an office setting. Schedule patient appointments which would require using the electronic health record to enter information. Must be able to provide excellent customer service, ability to use reason and good judgment, ability to multi-task, handle a multi-phone appointment line, and diffuse escalated situations.
- Prioritize work duties based on clinical flow
- Check schedules in advance of appointments to ensure visits include all necessary data for efficient visit at the time of service
- Collects and enters insurance information prior to patients office visit
- Posts patient payments and co-pays
- Maintains confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Schedule follow-up appointments, provides follow-up instructions for testing, prints physician orders
- Scan insurance cards, patient id and referral forms for visit
- Scan test results for providers
- Prepares medical records requested by patients, physician, and insurance companies
- Employs excellent customer service skills to ensure customer satisfaction
- May require late night to sort mail
- Settlement of cash and credit procedures
- Organize patient waiting area
Required skills:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years customer service experience
- Previous experience with EHR - preferred
- Understanding of medical terminology to perform position duties policies
- Typing, data entry and computer skills

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
