Medical Receptionist

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and organized Medical Receptionist to join our team. As a Medical Receptionist, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent patient service and ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk. This position requires knowledge of medical terminology, proficiency in office systems, and adherence to HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner

- Update existing patient information in the system

- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar

- Answer phone calls, take messages, and direct calls to the appropriate staff members

- Verify insurance information

- Collect co-pays and process payments

- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations

- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents

- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure efficient patient flow

Experience:
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role is preferred

- Proficiency in medical terminology is required

- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient care

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment

- Knowledge of phone systems and basic office equipment

- Able to problem solve and take initiative to improve workflow

- Must be flexible as demands of position change rapidly

- Must live with 25 miles of Yorkville

- Office is open 7:30AM - 5:00PM Monday - Friday and 7:45AM - noon on Saturday

- Only those with prior medical office experience and scheduling expertise should apply

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.50 - $17.00 per hour
