Medical Receptionist

Large G.I. Specialty Practice seeking a friendly, bilingual person to greet and intake patients at the front desk of our Monterey Clinic.

Applicant will become familiar with the ATHENA Electronic Medical Records System in order to perform the following:

Essential Job Functions:

Greets & receives patients, vendor representatives, and other visitors

Performs eligibility checks for upcoming patient appointments

Prepares chart paperwork for next day

Registers and checks in patients, which includes:

Update demographic and insurance information

Collection and review of registration, financial, and insurance information

Enters preferred pharmacy and lab locations

Enters primary care and/or referring physicians

Collects co-payments and balance dues

Balance and Batch end of day

Schedules appointments

Cross Trained to assist in other positions as needed

This position is full time, Monday thru Friday. Benefits include medical dental, and vision insurance, 401K, vacation, sick, and holidays. Salary based on experience

General Qualifications:

Bilingual (English/Spanish) Required

High School Diploma or GED

Minimum of one year Medical Reception experience Required

Experience with medical insurance preferred

Must have strong attention to detail

Must be comfortable collecting and handling money (payments)

Present a neat and professional appearance

Ability to, verbally, communicate effectively and professionally

Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in written form

Work well with patients, physicians, management, and staff

Have ability to function successfully under stressful conditions

Have excellent data entry skills

Must have a mature and courteous demeanor

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
