Fleet Dispatcher - Afternoon Shift

Job Description:

The Fleet Dispatcher is responsible for all communication and management of driver's, equipment, and customer accounts assigned. It's our goal to maximize equipment utilization and driver's hours of service.

• Maintain accurate driver records.
• Report any trucks not working to your supervisor daily.
• Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with your drivers and customers.
• Coach drivers through positive reinforcement.
• Communicate equipment maintenance needs to the shop maintenance team.
• Act as the voice of reason for the driver. Interact promptly, and professionally with customers to ensure the driver's needs are being met, as well as the customer's requests are being communicated throughout the load planning process.
• Communicate and work as a team player with ALL departments including maintenance, safety and payroll.
• Provide prompt communication to Shippers/Receivers as any issues arise delaying their delivery/shipment.
• Assist other fleet managers with swaps needed and be able to cover for them in their absence.
• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
• Work closely with the Safety Department to coach drivers as needed regarding HOS and safety violations.

Schedule: 3 pm to 12 am with a 1 hour lunch.

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Customer service is essential for success.
• Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
• Must be able to work well under pressure to meet deadlines, all while maintaining a positive attitude, and providing exemplary customer service.
• Ability to work independently or as a team member.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
