About the Job:
We are seeking a friendly and organized Medical Office Receptionist to work alongside our dedicated and growing healthcare team. In this role, you will work at the front desk assisting our patients and other visitors, providing a positive impact on their experience and the quality of the patient's care. We are looking for a highly motivated person to join our team for immediate hiring.
The position requires a team player with a very positive attitude while working within a clinical setting that balances patient service with a tight appointment schedule. The candidate must possess excellent interpersonal skills, maintain a very positive attitude, be well-spoken, extremely pleasant, a fast-paced learner, and maintain mental focus on the tasks at hand.
Your primary job duties will include greeting and checking in patients, answering questions, collecting patient co-pays, processing paperwork, and scheduling appointments. You will also help keep our records and work areas clean and organized, as well as ensure our office provides a welcoming environment for our patients.
Medical Receptionist Requirements and Qualifications:
- Familiarity with medical records and EMRs preferred.
- Familiarity with CPT & ICD-10 codes preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, clinical office environment and capable of sustained multi-tasking.
- Being multi-lingual is a plus, particularly in Spanish.
- A positive personality is essential with the ability to treat others with respect and pay attention to patient details and their needs as you would like in turn to be treated.
- 1+ years of experience working as an administrative assistant or in a relevant role.
- Completion of a certificate program in the medical field is preferred, but not required.
- Available 40+ hours per week.
- Pre-professional health education students are particularly welcome to apply.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Greet patients and other visitors when they arrive.
- Answer patient’s questions and provide assistance when necessary.
- Check-in patients, obtain necessary patient information to file, and update patient records.
- Distribute forms and paperwork to patients and check them over to ensure that required fields on all medical, insurance, and consent forms are completed fully and properly by patients.
- Field phone calls, take full and proper telephone messages, and professionally generate and respond to emails.
- Collect co-pays.
- Schedule patients over the phone and in person and assist them with maintaining their treatment plan appointments.
- Perform and reconcile end-of-day fee batch reports.
- Manage inventory of necessary office supplies and coordinate reordering.
