Summary
The Patient Service Representative is responsible for the patient check-in process, updating computer patient personal information and insurance information, handling a multi-line phone system, medical records filing and maintenance, and collection of co-pays and cash payments.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Performs opening and closing clinic duties.
- Greets patients, checks in for appointments and verifies insurance.
- Scans documents into electronic health record.
- Maintains tidiness of waiting area and reception counter throughout the day.
- Checks schedules for added, canceled and no-show appointments throughout the day.
- Schedules follow up appointments as needed.
- Responds to designated tasks in the electronic health record.
- Orders clinic office supplies.
- Sells and tracks cosmetic products.
- Prepares for next day scheduled appointments.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required
- 1-2 years of recent Medical Office experience or in a similar capacity is preferred.
- Proficient in basic computer functions.
- Ability to learn new software quickly.
- Must possess excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment.
- Ability to type a minimum of 40 wpm is preferred.
- Must possess attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team.
- Ability to respond positively to constructive feedback and direction from supervisors.
- Must demonstrate professional appearance and manner at all times.
- Must display a friendly, cheerful, tactful, and polite demeanor, and must be compassionate and caring in dealing with others.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
