Obtain signatures for financial responsibility, Charity Care eligibility, and consent for treatment etc. Verifies insurance is active and proper authorization is obtained prior to registration. Ensure patient is informed regarding Notice of Privacy, consent to treat and billing. Able to operate the following equipment: photocopier, fax, CD burner, printers, telephone, paging systems, and CYRACOM language services. Ensures work area is kept clean. Ensures patient reception and restroom area is clean throughout the day, notifies EVS personnel in a timely fashion when services are needed. Follows TJC regulatory standards. Consistent investment of performance that is demonstrated within High Reliability Organizations. Communicates daily with pre-cert department on outstanding appointments for next day. Ensures patients are notified before they present for exam if pre-certification has not been obtained.
Communicates effectively with Physician's office and/or insurance carrier to ensure timely certification. Accurately and efficiently transcribes (if applicable) and schedules radiologic tests in EPIC/Radiant for outpatients. Retrieves and enters accurate information required for this process, utilizes scheduling resources available in Cadence and scheduling manual provided by department. Informs the patient regarding necessary preparation and arrival for procedures. Verifies pre-registration data for accuracy. Verifies that all procedures requiring precertification are received prior to the procedure. Follows enterprise protocol for appropriate use criteria documentation.
