Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Medical Office Assistant to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have experience as a medical receptionist and possess strong administrative skills. As a Medical Office Assistant, you will be responsible for providing excellent patient service, scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, and ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk.
Duties:
Assist in front office duties of a community psychiatric private practice, which specializes in substance use care.
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries or direct calls to appropriate staff members.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointment calendar.
- Verify patient insurance information and collect necessary co-pays or fees
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents.
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar administrative role within a healthcare setting is preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, staff, and healthcare providers
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations with professionalism and empathy.
