Medical Front Desk Specialist

Job Type: Full-time

Responsibilities subject but not limited to:
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience, check out patient and make follow-up appointment. Collect copays, deductibles, and or coinsurance payments at visit .
- Answer phone calls and schedule appointments using the medical office's phone system
- Maintain patient records and update information as necessary
- Verify insurance coverage
*Assist with billing and coding tasks as needed and other Front Desk duties as required
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers as directed by physicians
- Ensure the waiting area is clean and organized
- Provide excellent customer service and address patient inquiries or concerns

Skills:
- Proficiency in using medical office software systems and EMR
- Experience and knowledge in insurance verification and how medical insurance benefits apply to office visits and procedures.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality
- Previous experience in a similar role as a medical receptionist is preferred
