**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a competent and friendly individual to join our internal medicine office as a Medical Front Desk Receptionist. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff while efficiently managing administrative tasks at the Front Desk.
**Responsibilities:**
1. Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
2. Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage the appointment calendar effectively.
3. Verify patient information and insurance details accurately during check-in and update patient records as necessary.
4. Collect co-payments, deductibles, and outstanding balances from patients.
5. Assist patients with completing necessary forms and documents.
6. Direct patients to appropriate departments or healthcare professionals within the office.
7. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area.
8. Handle incoming and outgoing mail, emails, and faxes.
9. Manage electronic medical records (EMR) system proficiently.
10. Coordinate referrals and authorizations for patients as required.
11. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality guidelines.
12. Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and data entry.
13. Collaborate with medical staff and support colleagues to ensure smooth operations of the office.
14. Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
15. Perform other duties as assigned by the office manager or healthcare providers.
**Qualifications:**
1. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in healthcare administration is a plus.
2. Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred.
3. Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
6. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
7. Compassionate demeanor and ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy.
8. Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures.
9. Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information.
