WellView Care Medical Assistant (MA) / Front Desk Receptionist
A Medical Assistant (MA) contributes to WellView Care’s work environment by presenting a friendly, helpful face to patients, people seeking testing or recurring patrons. Within their duties of greeting patients in a courteous and sensitive manner, scheduling appointments and assisting with the needs of our clients, this position has the opportunity to give standout service that enhances the reputation of
WellView Care, encourages clients to continue to seek medical treatment from our WellView Care Center and recommend our services to others.
Responsibilities:
- Perform administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry and patient registration.
- Maintain examination areas.
- Maintain equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning and troubleshooting.
- Preparing patients for examinations by take vitals.
- Collect data about past medical history and current medication prescribed.
- Update health maintenance at patient visit, accurately identifies medication changes and update allergy information at each visit.
- Assists with performing assessments, screenings and treatments by gathering information by collecting specimens and documenting patient care.
- Perform HIV and HEP C rapid test.
- Other duties as assigned
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Required)
- Must be a graduate from an approved Medical Assisting Program (Required)
- Current demonstrated clinical proficiency
- Answers telephone promptly; preferably by the third ring.
- Ensure calls are identified and properly categorized in order to forward to appropriate area within office timely and efficiently.
- Demonstrates proper telephone etiquette when receiving transferring and placing calls on hold.
- Checks to ensure that patients fill out applicable forms completely and correctly.
- Pulling up patient charts and medical records.
- Ensuring a smooth flow of patients which allow our physicians to provide treatment efficiently.
- Informs Office Secretary or Office Coordinator when supply level is approaching reorder point.
- Performing administrative and clerical duties, such as filing paperwork, when necessary.
Certification:
- Successfully completion of Basic Life Support from either American Association for Medical Assistants
(AAMA) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) (Preferred)
- Certified Medical Assistant from either American Association for Medical Assistants (AAMA) or
Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) (Required)
