Medical Front Desk Receptionist

Long term position

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Check-in and check-out patients.
• Check benefit eligibility.
• Collect co-pays, deductibles, and/or any past balances as directed.
• Enter collected money into the patient chart.
• Will accurately enter and/or verify every patient's demographic information into electronic record, phone number, address, and insurance. Will indicate if self-pay.
• Check chart for photo if none add photo.
• Collect patient insurance card and identification card to ensure the person presenting for an appointment is the person who has the insurance being used.
• Create follow up appointment as needed.
• Will verify every clinic appointment has been checked in, no showed, or cancelled including telehealth appointments.
• Will call to collect co-pay prior to telehealth appointment. Will cancel or reschedule if the patient is not contacted and/or does not pay for the visit.
• Answer questions and offer other information to patients in a friendly manner.
• Act as a liaison for the patients and refer to other departments as needed. Will provide concierge level services to ensure the patient has had all questions and concerns addressed prior to leaving.
• Will consult with Front Desk Manager when unable to satisfy a patients needs/requests.
• Complete End of Day duties after the last patient checks out.

• Ability to relate to persons with diverse educational, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds.
• Ability to handle a "fast paced Front Desk" environment: work quickly and multi-task.
• Ability to exercise good judgment to handle clients appropriately.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service.
• Ability to handle large volumes of protected patient information.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
